Automotive Estimator Full Job Description:
An automotive estimator’s job involves assessing the scope of work needed for vehicle repair or maintenance and providing an accurate cost estimate to customers. This includes conducting thorough inspections of vehicles, identifying necessary repairs or replacements, and calculating the cost of parts and labour. Automotive estimators must have a strong understanding of vehicle repair processes and be able to communicate effectively with customers to explain the estimate and any recommended services. Attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently are essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Automotive estimator for an independent auto repair shop duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
Working closely with the Bodyshop Manager
Responsible for estimating vehicles that require body repairs and paintwork to a high standard.
Ensuring estimates are produced in accordance with Thatcham/Manufacture methods but also profitable to repair.
Cooperating with the bodyshop technicians for supplementary orders/parts on vehicles that are in progress.
Obtaining final authorisation for completed repairs, coopearing with insurance companies and engineers to gain authorisation for invoicing.
Supplying insurers with parts/sub-contract details for audit when required.
Assisting the Bodyshop Manager with duties involved in running the bodyshop
Cooperating with customers, work providers and your team maximising the performance of all aspects of the job.
The candidate should have some experience in the described role. They must also be dependable and have good customer relations skills. We are looking to fill this role full-time and long term.
Job Requirements:
Maintain professional appearance
Excellent communication skills, verbal & written, are required.
Punctual nature and ability to handle schedule flexibility and dynamic work environment.
Previous experience in a similar role.
Working knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
Presents a welcoming environment by keeping the work area neat and clean.
Administrative duties (i.e. scanning, copying, etc.)
Having a good working knowledge of Audatex and Repair Methods.
Being proactive in identifying and implementing effective working processes
Must have high standards of customer service, be a positive and effective communicator, and consistently adhere to strict processes.
Must have a UK driving license
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: TBA
Shift & Schedule: 07:30 - 17:30 Monday - Friday
08:00 - 13.00 Saturday
